In 2022, I was reading one of Dr. Yonggi Cho's books. This was a man who led the largest church in the world—over a million members! At one point, when his congregation was just a few thousand, God spoke to him and said, "Cho, you are limiting Me! I want to do more through you." Wow.
Then I read Andrew Womack's writings, and he shared a similar experience—God telling him the exact same thing. I remember thinking, I wish God would say that to me! Then I would know I'm supposed to believe Him for more.
Fast forward to January 2023, when Prophet Ester Aguaron came to speak. At the end of her prophecy, she said these words over me: "Do not limit Me. What I have for you is much bigger." No one knew that had been my personal heart's cry. I hadn’t prayed or asked God for it; yet, He spoke directly to me. It was both an encouragement and a rebuke.
Yes, God has called me for more, and He has more for me. But what was getting in the way? Me. Ouch!
I don’t like sitting on the sidelines, so I got to work. I took on social media, organized an online summit, wrote a book—I ran after every idea God gave me. Some of them weren’t from Him, but that’s okay. Every experience was a learning opportunity. Yet, through it all, those words rang in my ears: "Do not limit Me."
We are all unique, each with a divine purpose that no one else can fulfill. And yet, most of us are living below the standard God has for us. Each of us has a sphere of influence—whether in our families, neighborhoods, or workplaces. God wants to work through us, but we must stop putting limits on Him.
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV) reminds us:
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
But here’s the key: God doesn’t make everything sovereignly work out. We can limit or stop His power in our lives.
Hosea 4:6 says, "My people perish for lack of knowledge."
Imagine a man taking a ship from London to New York. He scrapes together everything he has to buy a ticket, assuming it only covers the passage. So, for weeks, he eats scraps while watching others enjoy lavish meals. Only at the end of the journey does he discover that all the food was included in his ticket!
How often do we spiritually starve when Jesus has already paid for our feast?
Many believers don’t know that God wants them well, so they never believe Him for healing. They don’t realize they can live free of anxiety, so they accept a life of struggle.
If you don’t know the promises in God’s Word, how can you believe them?
Ephesians 5:17 says, "Do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is."
In India, people go hungry while cows roam freely in the streets. Why? Because they believe those cows are reincarnated ancestors. Their belief system limits them. Similarly, the caste system keeps people trapped in poverty because they believe it’s their fate.
This isn’t just an issue overseas. In America, people often think more government assistance will solve their problems. But the issue isn’t money—it’s what people believe.
Proverbs 23:7 says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."
Many believe God is punishing them—that’s why they got divorced, lost a job, or are struggling financially. That is wrong thinking. If you believe those lies, you are limiting God.
1 Kings 19:11-12 (NIV) tells us that God wasn’t in the mighty wind, the earthquake, or the fire. Instead, He came in a gentle whisper.
We live in a world of constant noise. When was the last time you sat in silence? No phone. No Netflix. No distractions.
Silence makes us uncomfortable because that’s when real questions surface:
God still speaks, but He won’t send you a text or slide into your DMs.
He speaks in whispers.
Moses had his burning bush moment in the wilderness, not while scrolling social media. David wrote his most powerful Psalms while tending sheep. Even Jesus Himself constantly stepped away to be alone with the Father.
If Jesus needed quiet time, how much more do we?
Here’s a simple way to start:
Take five minutes of silence every morning. No phone, no music, just you and God. Let your thoughts settle. Create space for His whisper.
Because sometimes, you need to power down to power up spiritually.
God isn’t limited by your circumstances, age, or background. He is only limited by what you believe He can do through you.
When we stop limiting God, we start living limitlessly.
We move from surviving to thriving, from existing to excelling, and from mediocrity to miracles.
When we remove the limits, we release the limitless God!
